Does Sarah Like Strawberries?

April 23rd, 2009
Sarah has had fresh strawberry before has always spit it out. I gave Sarah some cut up strawberries with her dinner and she wasn't interested but asked me for a "strawberrrrr."

Hummm...

...ummmm...

...no. Spitting it out.

Mushing it in her hands into pulp.

First Starwberry Picking Part I

April 23rd, 2009
We took Sarah strawberry picking for the first time. We went with friends and had a good time. Sarah was more into picking the flowers than strawberries but at one point she liked holding them after I picked them.

Adventures In Eating

November 1st, 2008

Sarah eats out of a bowl for the first time. Of course, she still mainly plays with the bowl.

Sarah has started tearing her food into pieces. Today she tore up a whole mini waffle and then ate the pieces. I guess she was doing what I do.

Not So Bad

September 13th, 2008
Sarah is getting accustomed to cow's milk. Some days she loves it and some days she refuses it. It seems to depend on how hungry or tired she is.
Sometimes she let's the cup sit on her tray.

"Good job!"
"I love you, cup!"
"You drink, mama!"
"This stuff's not so bad today."

Got Milk?

August 25th, 2008
Sarah had her first taste of cow's milk today. I say taste because she's not interested at all. She just wants water.
"Drink please."

"What the?!"

"YUCK!"

"This still isn't water."

Plums Anyone?

May 12th, 2008
Very hard to find organic plums (or apricots) so this was Sarah's first taste of jar food. It was still organic but a mixture of plums, bananas and rice. She seems to be ok with it. Oh by the way, she eats up those foods that she used to frown at. I don't mix any of them with yogurt or applesauce anymore. Squash. Green beans. She gobbles them all down.

Just More Pictures

It's been awhile since I posted some pictures so here are a few that let you know what Sarah is up to. I guess it looks like she spends a lot of time in her highchair. Just three times a day but that's when she's sitting still. April 28th, 2008
Sarah had spiral pasta for the first time. Pasta is a good finger food. She enjoyed it.

May 1st, 2008

The next time I gave her pasta, she had gotten really good with it. The first time the pasta appeared on her head, I thought for sure it was an accident but a few seconds later, there was another piece. :)

New Food, New Adventure, New Outfit

April 24th, 2008
Sarah has mango for the first time. I think it's a bit sweet for her. She doesn't seem to mind it when it is mixed with peaches.
April 23rd, 2008
Sarah went with me to get my hair done. I had a 8:30am appointment. We got there early and I fed her breakfast (really lunch food) in the car. She sat on my lap the whole time except after she got warmed up and let a couple people hold her. She started crying the second we got inside and cried off and on after that like when I was getting my hair washed. Eventually she got alright. She was worn out by the time we got home.

April 26th, 2008
First shorts! It's hot down here! This is a Nana outfit! Sarah was looking good for her first fair. We went to the fair on Saturday and I was glad I hadn't put a lot of thought into it because there was no where to sit and nurse her. Luckily my friend had brought a waterproof blanket and we sat on it (Ron went too) and ate hot dogs and I TRIED to feed Sarah. She was too busy looking. She ate her lunch just fine though. I guess because she could see. Anyways, I think she enjoyed looking at all the people and things. Not sure she saw any of the animals (again).

New Toothbrush, New Cup, New Breakfast

April 12th, 2008
Sarah sucks on her toothbrush...

...and chews on her sippy cup. I thought maybe a different cup would help but not so far.

April 14th, 2008

Sarah had oatmeal for the first time. She didn't seem to notice that it wasn't rice cereal or that I added water instead of all milk.

New Hat, New Dress, New Fruit

April 8th, 2008
Sarah was pretty happy about her new hat. I was glad because it doesn't have the chin strap. She's worn it several times and it hasn't hit the ground YET.

April 11th, 2008

The temperature was in the low 80s so we broke out a new dress that I got for Sarah. This picture was right after waking from a nap and she wasn't quite ready for pictures yet...

...but it didn't take long for her to be ready.

April 10th, 2008
Sarah has pears for the first time. "Hummm. Not as good as apple sauce but as good as peaches."
"More please!"

More First Foods

I know some of you might not really want to hear everytime Sarah has a new food but this blog also helps me keep up with Sarah's milestones too so I'm just catching up here.

March 30th, 2008
Sarah has her first taste of blueberries. After I pureed them, I realized that they aren't really a food but a flavor so we use them to change up her apple sauce.

I went to Earth Fare today. I was running out of peaches and some other foods that I had made and put in the freezer. So we are all stocked up now. I even found some organic frozen cube baby food without additives. So I got some foods that I hadn't been able to find (organic) to make myself like pears and I got some meats (I was concerned about doing these myself). So those foods will show up here with funny faces in the future.
