Healthy Baby

Sarah had her 6 month appointment today. She weighs 17 pounds and is 25 3/4 inches. She is healthy. Doctor said we should start giving her water in a cup so she can learn how to use it. Wa wa what!? A SIPPY CUP!? I was thrown. Stumped. Shocked. Confused. Not a bottle but a cup! :'( My baby. My little baby. I had to take a moment. Sniff sniff.

We are so blessed that she is healthy. And she took her shots well. (Thanks, Charlie!) And she is growing and developing beautifully. Thank you, God.

Happy Sarah's 6 Month Birthday!

Favorite New Toy/Jump Jump

February 26th, 2008

This is Sarah's favorite new toy.

Sarah started jumping today...or is she dancing? Either way, she started today. She was having a ball. Her kicks were dangerous before but now she's jumping all over us.

Look Ma! No Belly!

February 24th, 2008

Sarah's not crawling yet but she can hold her body up on her hands and knees. This picture was last night while getting ready for bed. When she tried to move she went down on her belly. Babies do a lot of yoga positions. Upward dog. Happy baby. Cobra.

Ummm Books Are Gummy

February 24th, 2008

Yesterday we went to the mall and got Sarah some books. She got a few Sandra Boynton books...Not the Hippopotamus, Belly Button Book ("bee bo"), Hippos Go Beserk! and A to Z. She also got a book of opposites, a book of animals, Dr. Seuss's ABC, The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? We've gotten a ton of books from the library but Sarah likes to taste them before we read them and I don't think community books belong in her mouth. The books we got her are sturdy board books and she can do with them what ever she likes..as you can see in the pictures.

Say Cheese!

February 24th, 2008

I kept putting the camera up and she just kept smiling! I couldn't believe it. We've turned the corner! Somehow I don't think this will be the case in a portrait studio. My dream is to one day have my own stufio in my house.

First Fruit

February 23rd, 2008

Here's a picture of Sarah getting her first taste of apple sauce. She liked it. I'm pleased. I didn't make the apple sauce but it's not baby food either. :)

February 22nd, 2008

Sarah is sitting alone, without hands on the floor, while she watches her Baby Einstein DVD about sign language. Notice the pillows and such to cushion her the fall when she decides to dive for a toy.

Better Day

February 20th, 2008

"Surely I can get this toy and and my pacie in my mouth at the same time."

February 17th, 2008

We had a rough couple days but today was much better. Sarah's gums (as far as I can tell) have been bothering her. She's been whiny and cranky. Today she was better. She took a couple good naps and even got me in on one of them. I don't nap well so you know I was tired!

High Octave

February 17th, 2008

Sarah gives a speech. This is a regular occurence. This is edited so that there is only one mid-level scream. Tiffanie has me thinking she's going to be able to sing like Mariah Carey in her younger years. Hum.

Grandma Goes Visiting

February 16th, 2008

Grandma caught a ride with Jean and became our first official South Carolina visitor. She baked Sarah some sweet potatoes which she tried out this evening. Her response was much more pleasant than with the sweet peas. Go figure. She likes a good yam just like her Momma!

February 14th, 2008 "I can feel the love."
"I can wear the love."
"Daddy took Mommy and me out to lunch. I could see the love. Thank you for my outfit, Ferne."
"Auntie Grace? Are you out there? I can drool on the love."
"Let me show Daddy how to use this thing. I can teach with love."

"What I've Been Up To"

February 8th, 2008
"Do you hear me playing this thing!?"

February 11th, 2008

"I'm not just sitting by myself on the couch...I'm playing too!"

February 12th, 2008

"Is he still behind me?" At the children's museum.

"Gasp! I didn't mean to roll over!"

The playground was a really neat place.

Crawling!...Well Not Quite

February 12th, 2008

This is Sarah in the 3 and under area at the children's museum. We went yesterday evening for Family Night. The museum and even this play area were a bit advanced for Sarah but she liked seeing the other children and getting out the house.

We also went to storytime at the library yesterday morning. She really liked that. I wish I had been able to get her to that weeks ago.

Sweet Peas for the Sweet Pea

February 9th, 2008
Sarah had her first taste of food, other than rice cereal. She made faces but still ate some. We tried some more last night with a little breastmilk. She liked it a little better but it will still take some getting used to. I think next week, I'll make her sweet potatoes. Yes, I made the sweet peas.

A conversation with Sarah or should I say by Sarah?

Tuesday, February 5, 2008

Super Tuesday

Sarah and I had a super Tuesday. We made it out the house early enough to make a LaLeche League Meeting in the library. The main branch downtown. Which was a great location because we wanted to go there anyway.

After the meeting, our new friends Valarie and Sherrie helped us out and we got lots and lots of books. Probably about 30! It was a successful trip considering Mommy forgot and left the stoller at home so Mommy had to carry Sarah, diaper bag and a bag of 30 or so books! But we managed.

Since Sarah was fed in the library and it was in the 70s today (Beautiful!), Sarah and I went on to the grocery store where I cooked dinner. I rotissery chicken that was pretty good.

After all that, we came home and Sarah took a nap. After she woke up, we walked the neighborhood a few times over.

But the most superess thing of them all!!!!!! Wei Yan and Robin had their baby boy this evening! They are all doing well. I was on the edge of my seat all day awaiting news. I'm so glad they are all good and that baby boy is finally here! I look forward to seeing him.
