It's Not Christmas but I'm Christmas Cute!

January 25th, 2008

This was Friday evening. Sam (bottom picture) and the department held a welcome reception for Ron. It was nice. We met a lot of people. Sarah had a good time. She would have been a lot happier with the dress in her mouth though (see above).

Sarah has been enjoying pounding the highchair tray. I think she likes the noise. She is trying hard to learn how to chew.

Big Girl Food, Big Girl Outfit

January 17th, 2008
January 18th, 2008

The picture at the top shows Sarah eating solid food for the first time. She had some rice cereal by spoon. She did a great job trying to eat like a big girl.

The bottom picture shows Sarah wearing her first 6 to 9 month outfit. And it fit perfectly! Who knew? Aunt D and Grandma I guess. She also has on her new 6 to 12 month socks thanks to R&R, T&O (Aunt Rachael, Uncle Rick, Tavara and Octavia).

A Positive Attitude is Everything

January 12th, 2008 First family gathering at Golden Corral
Me and My Nana - Sung like me and my shadow.
You know he does!
I'm playing with my toes now...
And lovin' it!

Sarah had her 4 month appointment on Monday. She was 15.5 pounds (75th percentile) and 25 inches (70th percentile). She's doing great. The doctor said we can introduce rice cereal for fun because she's showing the signs of wanting to eat food but she doesn't need it for nutrition yet. I'm sure I will post a picture when she tries it.

Ron has started his new job and I will start mine soon. The apartment is nice. Great to have everything (especially the washer and dryer) on one floor! It's been raining since last night but it has finally stopped. The drought here is severe unlike NC which is extreme.

Sarah's napping which is why I was able to write so much. Back to work!

Sarah Fix

Huh? Are you watching me?

December 28th, 2007

This is for those of you that are looking here hoping to see Sarah.

Long Time No Blog

We are getting settled in South Carolina. Feeling our way around. We just got internet and forgot the digital camera back at home so no pics until next week. Of course I have been taking pictures with the film camera. Can't miss a moment.

Sarah is well. She held her own bottle on Monday. During tummy time she now scoots...kicks her legs, kinda like swimming, and inches forward.

Like I said, we're getting settled. I'm enjoying not having stairs. I can leave Sarah in her swing and go anywhere in the place. Laundry room, bathroom, kitchen. etc. If you've ever been to our house, you understand.

I must say that all DVRs are not created equal. The DVR here in SC sucks. Everytime you turn the thing off, it goes back to the beginning of the recording you were watching. If you program it to record all shows, you can't go thru and erase a scheduled recording of a single show. It will erase all scheduled recordings. So I can't erase an Oprah until after it has recorded it. How stupid is that? And the guide only lets you search by the first letter in the name so you have to scroll thru everything that begins with a S! Stupid. Maybe Tivo is a good idea.

Ok. I'm done.

BREAKING NEWS

December 26th, 2007
Sarah rolled over!!! From tummy to back for the first time on Christmas Eve at her Aunt D's house. Ron and Lil Robert were the only witnesses because I had run off to do something. The second time, I had just changed her diaper and put her in her crib to go wash my hands and Ron yells hooray AGAIN! I ran into the room and we put her on her tummy again and she rolled over just for me! :)

Happy 2008!

At midnight! Sarah woke up on her own.

January 1st, 2008
Things Will Be Great in 2008!
We spent the day with family and friends bringing in the new year, celebrating my upcoming birthday and saying goodbye for now.

We're Not in Kansas Anymore

Pictures from December 29th to 30th, 2007
We spent a few days in our new home trying to get settled. The apartment is nice and roomy. Sarah seemed to think her swing was brand new and it rocked her right to sleep.
I enjoyed cleaning and unpacking (thats's how it works when something's new).
It's bitter sweet to be moving on in our lives. New jobs and new places. It's a lot to take in but it's a good move for the our family, not just the three of us but for our nieces and nephews and friends' children as well. I know all that in my head but my heart is sad. Leaving our family and friends makes me cry but I know that relationships can get stronger in these types of situations. You call more, you email more, you blog more, you spend more time with them when you visit. It's all a part of life I know. YOU DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO SO YOU CAN DO WHAT YOU WANT TO DO.
We're only minutes from the mall so that helps.
